Announcement From Dr Liz
Thank you for taking a moment to watch this video and read about the changes coming to Dr Liz Geriatrics. As is obvious to everyone, the world is in a period of immense stress and change. And in that environment, I have been working with my team to develop a set of practices that allow us to continue to provide world-class geriatric medical care.
First, Dr Michelle Dhanak is retiring, and I am deeply grateful for the years of service she has given to our patients. We will be available for her patients, on-call both day and night.
Second, following the lead of most major academic medical centers, we will be moving to telemedicine to provide ongoing care. Like those medical centers, I’ll be working with visiting nurses and local general practitioners to provide “hands-on” when necessary. In addition, we will have our own RN for house calls. We’ll continue to provide 24 hour coverage for the patients we serve. Currently, I have a dozen telemedicine-only patients across California, and we’ve found that we are able to maintain a high standard of care addressing geriatric needs that are often overlooked.
To be fair, a lot of things are not changing with Dr Liz Geriatrics. We will be available to do expert geriatric evaluations and look in- depth at the issues of pain function behavior, and see what medications can cause problems and what we can do to make your loved one’s life better every day. I’m also developing online training and education (for educational units) for eldercare professionals and family — as well as doing telehealth for people around the nation, and providing support for families, and information and education.
We are converting to what promises to be a more user-friendly electronic medical records and video visit platform, Kareo, in October. This will allow us to significantly streamline our processes. Payments will be collected electronically at time-of-service. Visits will be $375 and on-call coverage will be $250/month. We’ll provide the responsible party (i.e. the person paying) the claim to submit to insurance.
We have a lot of work to do to convert to this system. Please let us know your plans so we can make sure we have you in the system for a smooth transition.
You can let us know one of two ways. The easiest way, and the way we recommend, is if you click here and fill out this (very short) form. The other way is to fill out the slip that you’ll be getting in the mail with the next monthly bills we’ll be mailing out.
You need to let us know whether you will be continuing with us or not. If you do not let us know, we will assume that you are continuing with us (and will bill you accordingly). We are making this assumption because if you do NOT continue with us, our ability to provide any care for you will end on October 1, 2022 and we don’t want to risk you having a lapse in your medical care.
Contact us at office@elderconsult.com or call us at (844) 375-4933. We have educational opportunities and telehealth at DrLizGeriatrics.com. I’m very excited about these developments. And I hope you’ll stay connected and see how we’re growing, and let us know what your needs are. We’re here for you.
We look forward to helping you keep your loved ones happy and healthy.
Dr Elizabeth Landsverk
